Still, the ingame store seems to think that I should be able to purchase the song pack, so I'm pretty bummed. I guess that's true, since I have Rocksmith 2014 and not Rocksmith. It says that I'm trying to purchase DLC for a game I don't own.

That is to say at least that Steam will not let me download it. But that seems to be for the original version of Rocksmith, and not 2014 Rocksmith.

I have the PC version and I went to try to get the Pearl Jam DLC. I am absolutely loving the game and getting back into playing. I'll like to pretend that it was me that played it so hard while rocking out on tour. It's also got some scratches and gouges in it, so it looks like someone played it. Has a warburton nect, or something like that. They said the one I picked was made from good parts and it had a fat neck so I so sure, I'll take it. The place had about a kagillian guitars to sell and I really didn't know what to pick. I went down to the local guitar shop here in San Jose (Starving Musicians) and picked up a ~500 dollar guitar-which qualifies as the very most expensive guitar I have ever owned (though last time I bought one, I was a starving grad student so.). Unfortunately, I had gotten rid of my guitar when moving, or something, so I didn't have an electric guitar anymore. I've never been great, but I could pick up a decent amount of stuff on tab and then practice it forever and get it down. I saw this thread and got totally excited to play guitar again for the first time in about 3 years. Been practicing songs as I usually do IRL, so all is good now Oh yeah I did! For some reason on the first play-through the O and P shortcut keys didn't show up on screen. There was a mention of them in the GUI, I think on the right side of the song map. Small things that aren't necessarily explained on screen that I will have to hunt down.īut otherwise I'm fairly happy with the game.ĭid you find the shortcuts for moving the riff repeater brackets? You will get evaluated as a professional and if you try a song you never heard before, the game will throw all the notes at you as if you composed it yourself. They are probably not displaying some shortcuts on screen and I'll have to find them.Īlso, do not play a song that you already know right off the bat. Right now I have problems just selecting the portion I want to practice since it seems to only allow you to move each bracket in 1 direction. When I nail that one, I combine both to check if the transition is OK and if I still remember the 1st part. Usually when I learn songs, I practice 1 section until I nail it, then move to the next one.

Riff repeater is an amazing tool, but I just can't figure out how to make it behave like I want it too. I can see people getting from "never touched a guitar/bass" to being able to play decently with minimal extra practice. Thankfully one of my friends had a spare so I could play a bit tonight before getting my own. I believe the game uses the cable as a hardware dongle preventing some amount of piracy and don't believe other equipment is compatible, i bought a 2nd cable to play 2 player b/c my other audio devices didn't work.
Otherwise I'll go get a cable on my way home. Anyone had luck trying the game with other ASIO compatible equipment other than the Rocksmith cable? I haven't had time to try it yesterday and I'm wondering if it's possible.
